Interpreter Practice Materials - Complete Set
Product Description:These materials mirror the types of interactions in which interpreters work: one-to-one interactions, small group discussions, and lectures before a large group. The speakers are both Deaf and hearing presenters. The Lectures were filmed before a live audience. They use topics and speakers drawn from actual interpreted situations. The camera angles used capture the interpreter's perspective for each lecture. The One-to-One Interactions use techniques originally developed by SMI to place students in positions where they must interpret from ASL to English and from English to ASL within the same interaction. The Small Group Discussions place students in position where they must interpret for a group discussion. In one setting (the post office) the majority of participants are Deaf and in the other setting Deaf participants are in the minority. Set of 33 DVDs.
